Creating four-page brochures

by Anica Petkoska — last modified 2008-06-19 11:41

Assignment

Individually create simple four-page brochures exploring resources (online and software) to assist others in selecting appropriate, language-specific learning technology.

Each brochure should ultimately include:
-a cover page (with relevant text and at least one visual) designed to inform readers about the brochure's content and create interest
-an introduction to the language, including: brief descriptions of world regions and/or countries in which the language is spoken, relevant maps, and professional, social and personal benefits of learning the particular language
-a list of several online resources and software programs and a one-sentence description of each
-an original sample technology-based language lesson created and described by each group; the lesson should use software and/or the Internet to introduce a series of vocabulary words (i.e. family-related vocabulary) or teach a grammatical structure (i.e. the past perfect tense) and provide some form of assessment (i.e. Q. & A. using a microphone)

Work in groups to complete the research necessary to create the language introduction and list of technology resources, and to brainstorm together the sample technology-based lesson. You will want to browse the Internet, foreign language and geography textbooks, travel guides, and/or magazines.
