Aim of project:

Description of project - Since old times Colchian and Iberian medicine attracted the attention of foreigners. A number of Georgian medical traditions have come down to this day, some existing only in the people’ s memory, still others have disappeared completely. Nevertheless, It is still possible to more or less completely describe the popular medical systems of different parts of Georgia, but this time we are going to dwell on Kakheti, because kakheti’s traditional medical culture is of a quite high level. It includes very effective remedies and methods, naturopaty and magico-religious measures.Old georgian people knew when and how to resort to psychotherapeutic methods. They were also very well aware that some medicines were quite useless in treating some deseases; in such cases the emphasis lay on charms and other madico-religious rituals.Charms were used to cure patients affected by an evil eye, or those who had experienced great fear. How old people cure patients in your country? for example: migraine?
