Preparing learners for successful presentations in a foreign language

by Barbara Dieu — last modified 2008-06-19 11:45

Learners of foreign languages are very often asked to give presentations to promote oral proficiency. However,  many just focus on the content to be transmitted and forget a number of other skills required for successful public speaking. As a result, they may experience stressful situations during preparation and end up with frustrating results.

Structured planning,  organization and guidance before, during and after are a must to ensure a learning experience during which not only the target language is practiced but  life long skills incorporated.
